After attending Hartwick College and Albany Law School of Union University, Mr. Parola served as legislative counsel with the New York State Assembly (1971-1976) (1977-1978) and the State Senate (1976). In 1978, Mr. Parola began the first of his eight terms in the New York State Assembly. He specialized in education, budget reform, and elder law until 1993, when he was elected as Nassau County Comptroller. After leaving elective office in 2002, Mr. Parola concentrated on elder law, estate planning, and real estate. In his capacity as the Executive Director of the Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency, he oversees programs that provide tax incentives for economic development and job growth.
